Welcome Back Dondero families! As a kid (only a few moons ago), I recall thinking summer vacation was
way too short and it ALWAYS ended long before I was ready...but at the same
time, there was this excitement as August drew to a close and we prepared
for the first day of school....Well, there are some things that never seem
to change and clearly this is one of them!

Recess Stuff For Students
The PTA is collecting Recess
equipment for the start of the new school year!
Do you have slightly used balls,
hula-hoop’s, Frisbees, trackball sets or jump ropes?
Do you have any gift cards or
merchandise credit cards to Walmart, Five Below or Dick’s lining your wallet
collecting dust?
Can you throw a sports ball into your
shopping cart while out school shopping?
We would like to start a Recess
Equipment Collection at the Popsicle Party and continue the donations
through September.
Know that this WILL be the MOST
used donation you will ever make!
Weeding Day
We're having a weeding day on Friday, September
24th from 11am-1pm. The goal of the 2 hour session is to pull
everything
out of the beds in the Dondero courtyard garden and get it ready to start
from scratch in the Spring. It should be a good community builder for
parents and the kids will be invited to help out during their recess. People
should bring small shovels and come in comfortable clothing.

Susan Mitchell is looking for a Literacy Volunteer to assist her team
with organizing her reading collection. Please email the
webmaster if you are interested in assisting her with the initial set up of
their library or if
you are available to assist her on a weekly basis.
We Need volunteers for the Ice Cream Social on 9/30. If interested contact the webmaster.
Portsmouth Language Enrichment Program
Dear Portsmouth language learners:
Welcome back to school! I hope you had a
wonderful summer.
Language classes in Portsmouth will start in a
few weeks-- September 27th. Classes will be held at the Portsmouth
High school.
This year we are able to offer Spanish, French,
Chinese, and GERMAn classes. We will be holding Information and Registration
Nights at all three Portsmouth Elementary Schools.
Wednesday, September 8
5:00-6:30 pm New Franklin
Monday, September 13
5:00-6:30 pm Little Harbour
Monday, September 13
7:00-8:00 pm Dondero
If you cannot make one of these nights,
don't worry! You can still register your child.
I am attaching the
class schedule and registration form.
