After School Enrichment (PEP) Committee Chair: Jen Bell

The Dondero After School Enrichment Program serves approximately 300 Dondero students per year with fun, informative classes after school. Courses such as cooking, journalism, arts and crafts, dance, martial arts, computer fun and languages are only a few of the many courses offered.

Volunteers are needed to help solicit teachers and courses, solicit donations for funding, develop the course roster, send out registration forms, organize and group students by class, confirm students in courses, organize the late bus roster, communicate with the course teachers, record and handle the fees and reimburse teachers for expenses.

Program in Arts Committee Committee Chair: Julia Yost

The Program in Arts committee is make up of a teacher representative from each grade plus Maria Sheppard (music) and Sara LaCasse (art) along with two parent representatives. This committee meets the second Tuesday morning of the month at 8 AM in the Art Room. Children are welcome. The committee promotes, organizes, and oversees the Artist in Residency Program that is funded by the PTA each year. The teacher representatives each choose an artist that ties into their grade level curriculum. Every three years there is a school wide theme based program. The committee is responsible for helping support the Artist in Residency Program at Dondero by attending meetings and completing tasks.

Box Tops for Education Committee Chair: Sally Zwick

Parents and children collect box tops during the year and drop them in the box in the foyer. The chair periodically checks the boxes, sends "free popcorn coupons", organizes the box tops and twice yearly sends them to the manufacturer in exchange for a check for the schools use.

3D - Three for Dondero

What is 3D?
Have you heard the expression, "many hands make light work?" At Dondero, we take this seriously. Research has shown that schools that strongly partner with families and community are not only the best performing schools, they tend to have the happiest students.

The 3 stands for 3 volunteer commitments.
You can define this in any way that feels manageable to you.
You can commit to 3 hours for each child or for all your children.
You can do it in any way that supports students: driving on a field trip, helping with a project at home, selling popcorn, or attending a family fun night are just a few examples.

The D stands for Dondero.
At Dondero, we want all parents and guardians to feel welcome to make a contribution. Are you ready to make the 3D commitment? Click here to sign a pledge card.

If you have any questions or, you have an idea for a volunteer project, email one of our volunteer coordinators:
