Pasta Dinner Committee Chair: Open

This Italian dinner with all the fixings brings new and veteran Dondero families together to enjoy the food and music in a community-building environment. Flyers are distributed prior to the dinner, volunteers solicit food and paper goods donations from local businesses and a notice is sent to the editor of the local newspapers. The night of the dinner, tables are set and pasta is served by Dondero parents and staff that volunteer their time. It is a relaxing and fun evening enjoyed by volunteers and families alike.

Spring Fling and silent auction Committee Chair: Janine Moran

Spring Fling and silent auction Date: Saturday, May 19, 2007. 7:00 pm-12:00 am. Portsmouth VFW Hall Deer St. 'The Spring Fling is an opportunity for any and all parents and their friends to have a night out without the kids, have some food, dance, bid on really great silent auction items and have a good time while raising money for the PTA to put into some great programs benefiting Dondero students. There will be contests, prom photos, an election for prom king and queen, and our silent auction. The main idea is fun. There are many volunteer opportunities throughout the evening: ticket sales, auction runners, set-up committee, and others. If you didn't get to be on the prom committee in high school but wish you had, now is your opportunity!

Ice Cream Social Committee Chair: Marcy Baer

This evening is a popular spring event. By tradition, students are asked to bring the toppings for the sundaes, and the PTA provides the paper goods and ice cream. Volunteers are asked to sign up for several parts. In the afternoon, the ice creams is placed in bowls and put back into the freezer for the evening. Then the salad bar is filled with the toppings, and the paper goods are set up. When the smorgasbord starts, parent volunteers collect the donations at the door, some serve the ice cream dishes, and others are in charge of the whipped cream cans and keeping the toppings bar filled and neat. The last crew cleans up the tables and the kitchen. The chair is responsible for taking the deposit to the bank.

Lawn Fete Committee Chair: Amy Leahy

The Lawn Fete is an event held in June and is a large fundraiser for Dondero. Students look forward to it every year, thinking of it as an end-of-the-year celebration. It consists of games, bake sale tables, raffles, and maybe a visit from the Portsmouth Fire Department. Food is served as well. There are many volunteer opportunities at this event. It is definitely a joint effort successfully coming together with everyone's help.
