PTA Services
| Dondero Dinners | Coordinator: Jenn Cook |
Each day as parents and caregivers we interact with one another through school events, sporting activities, play dates, or just passing in the halls.
We are thrown together with the common goal of raising our kids, and supporting their elementary school education. As we all walk this common path, we
sometimes hear of Dondero families who have been impacted by illness. When we hear these stories our initial reaction is, "What can I do to help?" The
answer is --- Dondero Dinners! What is the goal of Dondero Dinners? The goal of this program is to provide families experiencing a health situation with a
little bit of support to make their daily routine easier. Just one meal can make a huge difference!
Volunteers sign up with the Coordinator, and then,
using the Lotsa Helping Hands website sign up to cook a meal as often as they
are comfortable. Please contact the coordinator if you would like to help.
| Yearbook Committee | Committee Chair: Jen Gaudreau |
The Yearbook committee is made up of parent volunteers who meet throughout the school year and organize the picture taking, layout, and compilation of the school yearbook. The pages are completed and sent to the company for publishing in March and delivered to the students in June. There are many aspects of the yearbook committee enabling volunteers many opportunities to be involved.
| Library, School Nurse, Office and Sports | Committee Chair: Open |
Library volunteers assist the librarian in the morning with some of her duties, including checking in and filing returned books and helping children check out new book selections. It's a great way to stay current in children's literature. During certain times of the year, volunteers help the school nurse in different capacities, ranging from help with annual vision and hearing tests, to height and weight measurements. There are many volunteering opportunities with Dondero Soccer, Basketball, and Track teams. Please ask Heidi Sat, the physical education teacher for further information.
| Wednesday Packets | Committee Chair: Julie Machado |
Packets for information on various announcements are put together each Wednesday at 9 AM by a group of five or six volunteers. (Any information intended for the packets must first be reviewed by Kate Callahan and be ready to copy by Monday afternoon.) After the packets have been assembled, they are distributed to each class and sent home with the students. This volunteering opportunity is very flexible, especially now that we have gone green, allowing volunteering once a month or more, if desired. Younger siblings are welcome.
| PTA Safety Committee | Committee Chair: Open |
The PTA Safety Committee is comprised of a small group of concerned parents regarding safety and welfare of your children. Anything that may result in a problem for the children is a concern for the Safety Committee. Two representatives meet with the principal and teachers on the Safety Committee every other month.
